Art Reproduction Scanning

Using a BetterLight digital scanning back mounted to a large format view camera, we can create visually compelling reproductions that are extraordinarily faithful to your original artwork. We can safely scan original paintings, drawings, prints, or other artworks on any medium: canvas, paper, cloth, metal, wood - framed or not, it doesn’t matter, because the piece doesn’t need to fit onto a scan plate or run through a machine. Other than light bouncing off of it, the surface of your artwork will remain untouched.

It doesn’t need to be a flat image either: we can also produce superior captures of three-dimensional pieces, from pottery to sculpture to jewelry, all in virtually flawless detail and color.
 
High Resolution, Perfect Focus
TIS’ art scans yield digital images with an available resolution of 9000 by 12,000 pixels, fully adjustable to fit your requirements. We are talking about an effective megapixel rating of 216MP! Originals measuring up to 30” x 40” can be scanned at 300dpi in a single pass. Larger images are captured by using multiple scans - without repositioning the original - and the results seamlessly composited into one large image file.

Digital Focus Verification is a key feature of the BetterLight scanning method we employ, and is measured using the actual image sensor - not the human eye. This allows us to consistently bring the entire surface of the art piece into the sharpest possible focus, from corner to corner, leaving no possibility for human or mechanical tolerance errors.

Precise Control, True Colors
Accurately reproducing the colors of your art matters deeply to us. Our art scans accurately capture pure, unfiltered RGB pixel data, reproducing literally billions of colors with outstanding clarity and detail. There is no interpolation or misalignment of color, so no unsightly artifacts can mar the resulting print.

Precision image parameter controls enable our imaging experts to optimize the exposure, resolution, tone, contrast and color balance in the preview stage, before the final scan is performed.

Photo Print Scanning

With our flatbed image scanner, we can make high-resolution scans of color or black & white original prints measuring up to 8”x10”, at a maximum resolution of 6400 dpi.

Film / Transparency Scanning

Transparent media such as slides, negatives, x-rays or microfiche can be scanned and converted to high-resolution digital files that can be easily viewed on screen or printed and shared in vibrant detail and color!

High-Speed Document Scanning

Fast, economical scanning of color or black & white originals measuring up to 11”x17” at a maximum resolution of  600 dpi.

Oversized Document Scanning

Blueprints, schematics, information charts, large maps - we can scan documents up to 36 inches wide at a maximum resolution of 400dpi on our wide format document scanning system.
